Alternating columns of pineapples and shells create an illusion of fiery feathers when crocheted in a tonal hand-dyed yarn. The stretchy lace pattern allows this cowl to be draped once around the shoulders, or wrapped twice for a cozy fit as the weather gets cooler. The bluefaced Leicester yarn used in the sample has a lovely halo that fills the spaces between the chain loops and shells to create a light weight yet warm cowl.

Inspired by Blue Moon Fiber Arts BFL fingering weight, this cowl is part of Laurinda’s Hooked on Hand Dyed project. Find articles about this yarn dyer in the same issue of Knit Edge Magazine along with this pattern. Find more of Laurinda’s Hooked On Hand Dyed Collection of designs in her Ravelry Store.
