Phrancko's Cabled V-Neck
The pattern is available here after you join TKGA.org for $35 per year, possibly the best deal in the knitting world.
How do you line the two sides of a V-neck with a rather wide cable, merging them at the bottom and then continue down the front? That’s the question that I wanted to answer with this pattern. The cable pattern used on each side of the neckline is a simple up-down pattern that does not slant. So, to create the slant, I tilted the patterns using short rows. Then when they come together at the bottom of the neckline and at the corresponding area of the back, short rows again tilt the rows back to vertical. Then, just for a little more excitement, I decided to bring the cables to a point in the back while in the front they simply merge and proceed to the bottom of the body. As usual in my sweater patterns, the sweater construction uses the Phrancko Set-in Sleeve architecture that is worked seamlessly across the bell-shaped sleeve caps to create an entirely seamless garment.
