Pia Shawl
Quick and easy to make Pia Shawl is the perfect middle season accessory. Pattern is ideal for advanced beginners or intermediate knitters. The shawl is worked in one piece back and forth on straight or circular needles.
This pattern is divided into 3 parts.
Each part is provided with both written instructions and diagrams. You can either follow the written instructions or the diagram :)
The shawl has pretty border lines created with the icord edge. Instruction on how to knit the icord edge is included in the written pattern and described in diagram abbreviations.
SIZE:
One size - approximately width 13 cm length 140-155 cm (depends on yarn type).
If you plan to make you shawl longer, you will need to purchase additional amount of yarn.
GAUGE:
18 stitches in stocking stitch = 10 cm (4 in) using the needles No. 4.5 mm (US/UK 7), after washing and blocking.
NEEDLES:
Circular needles No. 4.5 mm (US/UK 7), 2 markers and tapestry needle.
YARN SUGGESTIONS:
Medium weight yarn (aran/worsted) approximately 200 - 250 m.
- 2 skeins of Drops - Air (50g = 150 m) or 2 skeins Camarose - Snefnug (50g = 110 m)
- 2 skeins of Föa - Natua (50g = 100 m) and 1 skein of Föa - Nuvia (25g = 225 m). One strand of each yarn is held together.
- 1 skein of Föa - Tinta (100g = 200 m) and 1 skein of Föa - Nuvia (25g = 225 m). One strand of each yarn is held together.
- 2 skeins of Knitting For Olive - Heavy Merino (50g = 125m).
- 2 skeins of Filcolana - Peruvian (50g = 100m). or any yarn to obtain the gauge.
