Pianist’s Scarf
Crochet pattern for a piano keyboard scarf. This pattern is unique in that you don’t have to cut the yarn at every color change and weave in a million ends afterward! The keys also end up somewhat smaller, with tighter stitches, than many other piano keyboard patterns. Instructions included for making any number of octaves, including a full 88-key keyboard. It is not reversible, but for most uses this doesn’t matter too much. This versatile pattern can be used on its own as a scarf, or in combination with other stitches and patterns to create bags, blankets, and more!
A 6-octave scarf measures 4.5” wide by 70” long, and takes roughly 4 oz of black (105 yds) and 12 oz (630 yds) of white yarn, using a H-8 (5.00 mm) hook. Caron Simply Soft yarn was used to make the scarf in the picture. Gauge is not important for this pattern.
