Picadilly
When I lived in London for a few years, I frequently wore knitted scarves. It was with this thought in mind that I named this pattern Picadilly since it is something I can picture myself wearing around my neck to keep out the London chill as I walked by Picadilly Circus in downtown London. It is knit sideways and has a Wexford Braid Cable Edging that is worked at the same time as you knit the garter body of the scarf. You decide whether it will be a longer shawlette or a shorter scarf by the amount and weight of yarn you want to invest in your project. I knit the scarf you see pictured in only one skein (360 yards) of Madelinetosh’s Pashmina which is sport weight. It is 6 feet in length, and 7 and a half inches in width at its widest midpoint. The ends of the scarf are slightly tapered. I give instructions within the pattern for how to vary the yarn weight and amount of yarn used to customize the pattern into the size scarf you would like to end up with. There is a chart included for the cable edging as well as written instructions.
