Picnic in the Park Rug
Stay prepared for impromptu picnics with The Picnic in the Park Blanket by Debbie Bliss. Knitted in Cotton DK, this blanket is knitted in strips and then joined together. Follow the instructions to affix coated fabric to the back using hook and loop strips, ensuring protection from whatever surface you lay it on during your outdoor escapades. Ideal for keeping in your car for spontaneous nature snacks or whenever you require a snug blanket!

NOTES
• Due to the overall weight of the rug, you may find
the finished length is longer than 120cm/47¼in and
suggest buying and cutting backing fabric after the rug
is complete.
• Twist yarns at colour change to avoid holes, this
applies throughout including the cast on row.
• When joining the strips, insert the sewing up needle
into the edge st and “lace” the edges together, so
keeping the rug flat and losing no sts in the seam.
• We have used hook and loop strip to make the
backing fabric detachable to allow for laundering, but if
preferred, you could fold in the raw edges and sew the
fabric to the wrong side of the rug.
