I wanted to make something with this colour combination for some time and this was it. Nevertheless, my idea was always for the coral to appear discreetly somehow, to smoothen the colour palette, hence the spike stitch.

I have decided to name my piece Pico, after the volcano located in the Azores archipelago. The coral and the dark grey remind me of the spectacular rivers of lava produced by an active volcano.

Pico is a very easy and quick pattern to make. Although it implies changing colour, which can be something scary to a beginner, this is always done at the beginning of the round, making it easier. Nevertheless, I’ve included some tips in the pdf concerning this. Other than that, you will only use dc(UK)/sc(US), tr(UK)/dc(US) and chains.

You will find written instructions and also a chart.

In terms of yarn I’ve chosen Katia Maxi Merino, a bulky yarn 55% Merino, 45% Acrylic. You will need two balls, one in Grey Oscuro and another one in Coral.

All my contacts and social media are listed at the end of the pdf, don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions.

I hope you enjoy this pattern and that the cowl protects you from the winter cold.
