Picos
Knit a smart little bag for carrying a few essentials or give it as a gift.
A quick and easy pattern for someone who wants to try knitting in the round.
The stocking stitch version requires 2 X 50g of Twilleys Freedom Echo DK (shown in shade 901 - natural) and the garter stitch version requires 3 X 50g of Twilleys Freedom Echo DK (shown in shade 903 - blue).
The stated tension/gauge is for the stocking stitch version. For the garter stitch version it is 15 st / 27 rows in garter st in the round with yarn held double to 10cm square.
No seaming required as the bag is knit in the round and sealed with a fabulous fringe at the bottom.
Cast off with an I-cord for a smart top edge. Add a leather strap for a bit of luxury or create your own knitted strap if you prefer. All you need is a hole and a knot big enough to hold it in place.
Instructions given for both stocking stitch and garter stitch versions.
