You can make these shawls with any worsted weight yarn.

The illustrated shawls were made with Red Heart Holiday. This is a simple worsted weight yarn with a metallic thread twisted throughout.

I used the smaller size needles with the cream yarn to create a denser fabric and smaller size shawlette. Using the size 11 needles with the rose yarn produced a looser fabric with more drape and a larger shawl.

This is an easy project to knit up for a friend in the hospital or nursing home. …Looks much better than one of those nasty patient gowns!
