Materials required
Yarn: A DK-weight cotton yarn
Laura Knitting Cotton (Lotus International India) (Shade No. 926 is pictured, off-white)
OR
Coats Anchor 4-Ply Knitting Cotton (Shade No. 007 is pictured, coral)
Yardage: 5 x 50g balls for cropped length, 6 balls for standard length cardigan
Hook: 4.5mm
Buttons ~ ½ inch size
Tension
Gauge: 16 dc = 4” (standard US terminology is used)
1 pattern repeat in 3” (width)
Size: 34”-36” at the chest
Pattern details
Cardigan is worked flat in one continuous piece, top-down.
Starting chains: 131 for 14 pattern repeats. (To adapt for different sizes, use 9N+5, where N is the number of picot fan pattern repeats for desired size.)
Yoke is shaped by increasing from 14 pattern repeats to 18 pattern repeats, as shown in the increase chart, and then to 22 pattern repeats raglan-style. Then, the work is sectioned off into body and sleeves, working 12 pattern repeats to end for the body.
