These adorable little preemie hats are simple and elegant, with special picot detailing and a hemmed edge. They will impress everyone who sees them, and we knitters won’t tell them how easy they are to make!

There are complete instructions for creating the picot hem, so if you’ve never done this kind of detail before, don’t worry. There is no sewing involved, and the hem is just as elastic as the knitted fabric. And, if you find yourself with any questions that the pattern doesn’t seem to address, send me a message here on Ravelry. The hem is a great skill to learn, and I’ve loved how it has taken my knitted projects to the next level.

You can knit about three or four hats from one ball of sock yarn, depending on the sizes you choose to make.

Have fun! :)
