One round of sc (UK dc), then four points for the star worked with chains and slip stitches.

I’ve used size 10 thread and a 1.75 mm hook for this piece, which measures 1½“/3½ cm across. It also works up well in heavier weights with yarns that keep their shape nicely and have good stitch definition.

Very quick and easy to do, this star also resembles a cross. You could make it either for an appliqué or for an ornament.
