This pattern makes quite a big Pidgeot and contains considerable detail. However, it is more time-consuming than it is complicated.
I recommend acrylic yarn (I used Schachenmayr Bravo, that contains 133m in 50gr., and the resulting doll is over 20cm tall). It took about one skein of brown and cream, maybe a little more, and a lot less of the other colors (red, yellow and pink, and a bit of white).
Also, it stands up on its legs.
