Pier Dress
An oversize dress in a simple mesh pattern with vertical lines. The mesh pattern creates a beautiful drape over the shoulders. The dress ends with a slit on each side.
The design is perfect as a thin layer over swimwear or a light slip dress.
It is worked top-down. Stitches are cast on with long tail cast-on at the neck. A mesh pattern is established and at the same time increases are made for the shoulders. When the shoulders have the final width, the mesh pattern is continued on the back piece.
Stitches are picked up at the shoulders and worked one at a time, while the neckline is shaped with increases. The two parts are joined at the neck and the work continues on the front piece.
The front- and back pieces are joined under the arms and the body is worked in the round. The dress is divided at the bottom and slits are made at the sides.
The dress is finished with an I-Cord edge at the bottom and around the neck opening.
