Pier Tote Bag
A shoulder bag in a simple mesh pattern with vertical lines. A solid base is worked in stockinette stitch. The opening for the straps start a little way down on the bag, which gives room for the shoulder, while the length of the straps is also suitable for carrying the bag by hand.
The bag is worked from the bottom up. Stitches are cast on by provisional cast-on. The bottom is worked in stockinette stitch and stitches are picked up to knit in the round.
When the solid piece has reached its final height, a mesh pattern is worked in the round.
The work is divided for the opening of the straps and worked back and forth in the sides.
It is finished with an I-Cord edge at the top.
Stitches are knitted up along the openings and the I-Cord straps are made.
