Piernik is Polish for Gingerbread. There is a - gasp - gingerbread museum in the city of Torun, Poland, home of Martin’s Lab. The craft of gingerbread making in Torun began in the 13th century - whoa!

This crescent shawl gets its shape from frequent increases along the edges. There are three sections in this piece to blend two colors together: garter, slipped stitches, and lace. Knit from the top down in Silkpaca, this delicate accessory floats like a feather.
