PDF knitting pattern for a pair of fingerless mitts/gloves with Pierrot’s face on the front of each mitt. The palms of the mitts are plain.

The yarn used for the mitts in the photograph is Rowan Fine Tweed in Hawes, which is a rose pink tweedy-looking wool. I needed just less than 25gm. This wool goes a long way, so if using any other 4ply yarn, wool, cashmere or cotton, you will need slightly more - approximately 30-40gm of the main colour. Also needed is about 15gm in white or cream for Pierrot’s face and ruff, plus oddments of black for the cap and eyes, pink for the outline at the bottom of the face and a tiny amount of burgundy or red for the cheeks and mouth.

The motif is knitted using the intarsia method, but the mitts could be knitted in plain stocking stitch and Pierott added afterwards using duplicate stitch/Swiss darning.

Charts for both left and right mitt are included, together with written knitting instructions.

The approximate measurements for the mitts are: 3.5” wide (unstretched and not counting the thumb), 5” long from top of rib to cast-off edge and 1.5” long rib.
