Pig with Piglets
With this design, the adult pig’s body has an internal pocket which opens to reveal 4 baby piglets inside!
This pattern is 14 pages long and includes the instructions for both the pig and her piglets and it contains loads of photos to help you every step of the way. It is written in English, using American crochet terms.
You will need:
Yarn of your choice. Yarn weight doesn’t really matter - the size of your project will simply turn out bigger or smaller! I used Patons Smoothie DK Yarn (this is quite a thick DK yarn so it is equivalent to aran or light worsted weight in other brands) and my finished pig measures approximately 14cm tall and 22 cm long.
You will need the following colours:
Main Body Colour - I used pale pink (approx. 188m),
Nose Colour - I used darker pink approx. 3.5m).
Please note - The amount of yarn used will vary according to yarn weight, hook size and stitch tension so these measurements are only a rough guide.
A suitable size hook for the yarn you have chosen - I used a 4mm hook.
Toy stuffing.
Black finer yarn or embroidery thread for adding the eyes to the piglets & nostrils to the adult pig.
A pair of 6mm black eyes.
2 press studs (also called snap fasteners) for fastening the pig’s body. I used clear plastic ones.
Other tools you will need are a tapestry needle, some scissors and a stitch marker. You will also need a needle and thread for attaching the fasteners.
You are welcome to sell the items that you make using this pattern, but please do not sell / share the pattern itself. Feel free to contact me with any questions as I am more than happy to help. Thank you.
