Use this stitch pattern to create a stiff and durable fabric which stands up well when making hats, bags, straps, and pet collars. By using a smaller hook, you can enhance the rigid nature of your project. On the other hand, by using a very large hook, your fabric becomes softer and more open.

Be aware that this stitch pattern will use a lot of yarn since you are essentially working each row twice.
