Pillars of SimpliciTee
Pricing update: I have increased my prices to more accurately represent the work that has gone into the making of my patterns. All my patterns have increased in prices, however my newer designs have increased more than my old ones, as I feel I have learned a lot over the years and the quality of my newer designs is higher. The price listed reflects what I believe is fair for the work put into the design, however I understand that the price increases may be inaccessible to some and am offering some tiered discounts for those that need them.
A “Choose What You Pay” model is available for this pattern, allowing both financial accessibility and fair pricing. The buyer may pay what they are able while still valuing the hard work invested to create this design. Use the codes below in order to pay the price listed after each. Choose whichever price works best for you!
- No Code – Full Price = $15.00 CAD
- PK10 – 10% off = $13.50 CAD
- PK20 – 20% off = $12.00 CAD
- PK30 – 30% off = $10.50 CAD
I also offer a Buy 3, Get 1 Free discount! Add any 4 of my patterns to your cart, and use the code BUY3GET1 to get the 4th pattern free! Note: the free pattern will be the lowest priced pattern.
The Pillars of SimpliciTee is a lovely, slightly cropped tee design with a V-neck front and 2x2 ribbing on the sleeves/hem. It is knit top-down, raglan style. The tee is intended to fit close to your bust – the ribbed hem will start just below your bust and fall straight down. While I will include waist-shaping modification instructions, it is intended to have a slightly more boxy fit. It is a size-inclusive design, ranging (every 2”) from 28” to 62” busts. While this design is intended to be worn with 0-2” positive ease, it could easily be worn with more or less if you desire! The pictured garment is a size 36 on a 36” bust with no ease.
Sizes offered:
28(30, 32, 34){36, 38, 40}42, 44, 460, 52){54, 56, 58}60, 62, 64, 66
Sizes 28, 30, 60, 62, 64 and 66 are untested
These sizes reflect the FINISHED bust measurements (in inches) of the tee. The tee is designed to have 0-2” of positive ease, but can be worn with 1-2” negative ease (if you prefer a snug fit), or 3-4” positive ease (if you prefer a loose fit). To determine which size you wish to knit, measure your bust, add the preferred amount of ease, and select the closest size (sizing down for snug fit, up for loose fit).
Needles required:
Note: I recommend using a set of interchangeable needles for this pattern, as you will need multiple cord lengths
4.5 mm / US 7
Body: cord length to match your size bust measurement (or slightly smaller)
Sleeves: 9 or 12 inch circulars, DPNs, or 32”+ circulars for magic loop
You may need other size needles to meet gauge.
Gauge (blocked):
Using 4.5 mm needles and working in stockinette in the round.
I recommend also swatching flat, as the first part of the raglan is knit flat before joining in the round. If your flat gauge is significantly different than your round gauge, you can adjust needle size for the flat portion.
4” x 4” = 20 sts x 26 rows/rounds 1” x 1” = 5 sts x 6.5 rows/rounds
Make sure to block your swatch, as this can significantly change the size of your swatch depending on your fiber choice. Keep in mind that the weight of the finished tee may add a little extra stretch.
Extra notions required:
Stitch markers - 4 markers (ideally of one colour) for raglan seams, 1 marker (second colour) for the V-neck join/BOR marker
Scissors
Yarn needle
Scrap yarn or extra cord for holding sections of the work
Row counter is recommended!
Yarn required:
any DK (3) weight yarn that you can get gauge with (I used KnitPicks Swish DK - 123 yds per 50g ball, in the colour Marine Heather)
Yardage required:
