I think this would be an adorable baby shower gift. The little birds could hold diapers, baby clothes, toys. I would suggest crocheting the eyes on instead of buttons. As a toddler they could then use the bags to carry their toys or mom could make them into pillows.

This would make a really cute owl, parrot, chicken or any kind of bird. It would also be adorable as various animals by combining features from other snappy patterns.

Yarn: Main Color - 300 yards, Tummy - 140 yards, Feet - 200 yards, Small amounts of accent colors
Crochet Hooks: K, N
Finished Size: 16” X 16”

Worsted Weight Version
Yarn: Main Color – 150 yards, Tummy – 40 yards, Small amounts of orange for the feet and accent colors
Crochet Hooks: H, I
Finished Size: 10.5” tall 9.5” wide

Both Versions
yarn needle to weave in ends, 2 black buttons for eyes, sewing needle, black sewing thread, stuffing for feet, stuffing or pillow form for main body if desired.
