One of my nephews’ birthday is coming up and I thought I would make him something special to celebrate it. Ben’s turning 3, and he loves aeroplanes and helicopters. But, his Dad is a pilot for Swiss, so I thought I would make him his very own Swiss plane, complete with a removable pilot to captain it.

And of course I though I had better write the pattern down, just in case you also know a little boy or girl that would love their own aeroplane!

Materials

DK weight yarn in 5 colours. I used Red Heart Lisa yarn in:

• White (main colour)
• Mid-Grey Melange (engines and accent, pilot pants)
• Fire (Red - plane tail)
• Baby Blue (pilot shirt and hat)
• Black (pilot glasses and accent) Size 3.5mm Crochet Hook (E/4) Yarn Needle Scissors

Pilot Sam is made in 3 separate parts and then joined together.

The plane is made in 7 separate parts and then joined together.
