Pim est un gnome - dat waren de eerste woorden Frans wat ik heel lang geleden op de basisschool heb geleerd. Daar moest ik weer aan denken toen ik dit patroon in elkaar aan het zetten was.

Dit najaar heb ik samen met een aantal vriendinnen adventskalenders voor elkaar gemaakt. In een opwelling had ik dit patroon bedacht omdat ik het dan in delen in hun kalender kon stoppen. Natuurlijk moest alles een beetje cryptisch en geheim zijn. Maar nu is de advent voorbij en ze vonden allemaal dat het patroon gepubliceerd moest worden. Nu alleen wel met betere beschrijvingen! Zodoende hebben we een patroon met extra foto’s en charts.

Er zijn verschillende versies mogelijk, daar je de muts andersom kan maken, de kleurenwerk wel of niet op de lijf wil maken en ook nog de mogelijkheid hem hol of bol te maken.
Wij vinden hem vooral heel schattig met handgesponnen garen!

Een waarschuwing - als je eenmaal eentje hebt gemaakt, heb je algauw een hele familie bij elkaar! :wink:

The words Pim est un Gnome are the first words of French that I learned many years ago in grade 5. I had to think about that while I was knitting this pattern. The gnome was originally designed in cryptic Dutch in 5 parts for my friends to find on different days in their advent calendars in 2021.

Pim is knit in one piece, but the pattern has had a redo and is now much more complete than the original. You can knit it hollow, so that it will always stand upright, or filled, which is quicker but also means your Pim will fall over easier.

There’s a chart for the colourwork, but busy yarns or handspun yarns will work great without the colourwork.

I’ll add one warning… after knitting one you’ll have a hard time not knitting another one!

Little Flare has been added to the pattern - he’s Pim’s big friend and is inspired by the Solar Flare Socks by amakila

Cheezy has joined the gnome crowd! He’s got a sweater on to cheer his sock knitting friends along during this year’s Sock Madness

Gnome E. Kristall is a new challenge for Gnome knitters. He has a helix knit hat with cables and his beard is not an “afterthought” beard like the earlier patterns.
