Pin Drop Socks
Pin Drop Socks were designed specifically for fans of commercial athletic style socks!
I designed these for my dad who almost always wears bulk-pack socks. I wanted to knit him a pair that would fit the way he likes and have a minimal texture that would suit any occasion. Pin Drop Socks are an uncomplicated, yet engaging knit. I find that rest rounds on a ribbed sock make all the difference for the knitter while providing an excellent fit.
Construction
Knit cuff down with a flexible fitting heel flap and turn. My round toe is included which I find suits most feet the best.
Method
My favorite method for sock knitting is MagicLoop technique. The pattern is easily adjusted if you prefer working on DPNs.
Yarn
The simplicity of this design means absolutely any sock yarn will look amazing. The sample pair shown is a wonderful self-striping sock set from Tall Pine Yarns. Both a contrast toe and a striped toe are shown to give an idea of how the design will look with either.
Extras
I’ve included my trick for a seamless join in this pattern, as well as a couple other stitch tricks to help create the most perfect sock off your needles.
This pattern is definitely beginner friendly for anyone new to sock knitting or ready to take the leap.
Happy Knitting everyone!
