Pine and Folk
Oh to be comforted by a well loved sweater while walking in (or dreaming of) the woods or mountains!! Inspired by traditional Icelandic lopapeysa sweaters, the ‘Pine and Folk’ sweater will soon become your favorite.
’Pine and Folk’ is a modern lopapeysa sweater that is worked seamlessly in the round, from the bottom up. Sleeves and the body are worked separately then joined together at the yoke. Short row shaping is added to the back of the body to create a comfortable fit.
Contrasting cuffs and bottom body band highlight the colorwork motifs, while pine trees, inspired by the Alberta boreal forest, are featured on the yoke. The neckline is a simple rolled hem.
’Pine and Folk’ is a modern interpretation of the traditional lopapeysa sweaters and is intended to be worn with 2-4” / 5-10 cm of positive ease.
