This pineapple is a fantastic, fun, food toy and rattle! Great for promoting healthy eating. The bumps around the body of the fruit and texture and the different shades of green leaves add color depth and make a great handle.

This pattern is for a handsized, textured pineapple amigurumi. It is sized to fit a 1.5 inch diameter rattle insert in the main body (optional). This pineapple is made in 8 parts: 6 leaves, stem, and body. Tutorial has been included on how to join all these parts without sewing! Do not join rounds. A stitch market placed at either the beginning or the end of the round can help keep track of round in the spiral. Stuff as you go (polyester filling, cotton, yarn scraps, etc.). Finish the piece by sewing together.

Instructions with pictures describing the textured raised pineapple stitch (RPS) are included with this pattern. Also, included is a tutorioal on joining all the parts without sewing! Stitch counts are given in brackets () at the end of most rows.

Stuff as you go (polyester filling, cotton, yarn scraps, etc.). Finish the piece by sewing together the parts and embroidering the eyes using a darning needle.

The toy pictured was made with worsted weight (size 4) acrylic yarn from Red Heart, however you can use any size yarn (will affect final size) or any type yarn. The Silver Hook likes to use acrylic yarn for babies since it is stain resistant and durable yarn.
