Pineapple Mitts
This pattern is given as a written pattern for the cuff and top, and as a chart for the colorwork and thumb. There is a picture tutorial for complicated steps after the pattern, and I am also available through e-mail or on rav, or even for a video chat, to help you work through any issues.
Gloves are knit in the round.
TERMS USED
K: Knit
P: Purl
K1tbl: This is a M1 stitch. After knitting a stitch, don’t drop it from your needle, but knit into the back loop of the stitch to make one. Then drop the stitch as usual. Now you should have two stitches in the place of one.
K1tfl: This term is used once in the pattern. Basically, it means knit through the front loop (a normal knit) but is only used to make three stitches out of one (k1, k1tbl of same stitch, k1tfl of same stitch)
K2tog: Knit two stitches together like they are one stitch.
SIZES
This pattern comes in three sizes: size is not the size of your wrist, but rather the measurement of your palm.
1) Lay your palm flat, and wrap a measuring tape around it. Make sure to measure around the largest part of your palm, including your thumb in the measurement. (SEE LAST PICTURE)
Now take this number and divide it by 2. This is the number you will now use to find what size you are going to knit.
3- Small
4 - Medium (this is the one shown in the pictures)
5- Large
Round up at the halfway point (meaning, if you get 3.2 as your number, use the 3. If you get 3.5 or 3.7, use the 4.
