chain in chain
pineapple pattern using 3-dc clusters creating a pinecone pattern
irish crochet edge (filled chains, crowns and picots)

Editor’s note - round 21 suggests chains of 7 stitches however this editor found that there may be puckering or ruffling of the doily you may wish to use chains of 8 stitches to have flattened resulting doily.
