Pink and Blue Snail Crochet Amigurumi
Many apologies as I completed this project a week before deciding to write the pattern, so a few of the rounds are a bit “freestyle”, but I think when you have the piece in your hands, it shouldn’t be hard to decipher what I’m getting at for those particular rounds.
Otherwise, this pattern uses a tall oval for the snail foot, a frilled edge for the foot, a flat oval for the base of the foot and shell, and two nearly semi-spheres for the shell single crocheted together, ten ovular spots, two nearly-spheres for eyes, and surface crochet for the shell spiral detail. The only skills you’ll really need are sc, hdc, dc, joining rounds, working in spiral rounds, surface slip stitching, and a tiny bit of embroidering for the eye shine.
I’ve only been crocheting and reading patterns for a month at this point (June 2023), so If I can make this, I guarantee you can make this! I made up the pattern as I went, so the order of making the parts is written in the order that I made them, not necessarily in the easiest order to construct.
Tools needed:
Blue/cyan yarn
Seafoam/light blue yarn
pink/coral yarn
red yarn
lavender yarn
black yarn
white yarn
I used a 4 mm crochet hook, but the stuffing does show through the shell (but only the shell) so you may want to use a 3.5 mm or even a 3.0 mm hook if you are worried about the stuffing showing.
0.1 mm armature wire
fiber fill
yarn needle
and perhaps a stitch marker or two if you don’t trust yourself to count exactly correctly on the shell and foot!
Feel free to share any pictures of your snails if you make them along with me!!
