Pink Christmas Socks
This is the fingering weight version. A DK weight version of this design is also available.
This design was inspired by Olivia & Oliver Fibers’ “Pink Christmas” sock set theme for the 2024 sock set advent countdown. The leg section features little colorwork Christmas trees that are made of bobbles for a fun extra pop. The rib texture on the leg and foot result in a cozy fit that will help the sock stay in place. These socks will be a delight to knit over the wintry season while watching holiday movies!
Testers described this pattern as suitable for an intermediate knitter due to the combination of colorwork, bobbles, as well as ladderback jacquard if chosen to be used.
Construction
These socks are knit cuff-down, starting with 1x1 ribbed cuff with a contrast color trim on top. Colorwork is worked on the leg with bobble stitches forming Christmas tree shapes. Once the colorwork is done, the remainder of the leg is worked in a ribbed texture. It is followed by a heel flap, with garter stitch edging, and gusset. The rib texture is continued on the top of the foot, ending with a toe that is then grafted closed.
