It all started when I asked my 6 year old daughter what kind of dress should I knit for her. She answered loudly and firmly: I want pink little flowers!!! She is a determined young lady, so I hadn’t have any choice. When I finished my little girl was delighted and didn’t want to take it off and she demanded the same dress for her favourite doll. I hope your daughters, granddaughters, nieces etc. will feel the same about it.

Pink little flowers is a knitted cotton summer dress available in 8 different sizes from 18 months up to 8 years old including doll size. It’s a project intended for upper intermediary knitters because it requires working in round (preferably using the magic loop technique). Some stitches like sl2-k1-p2sso may also be difficult for beginners. But don’t be affraid, it’s not that hard, there is no sewing in this project and no colorwork other then stripes (and a few slip stitches).

I’ve tried to write the description so that making the dress was easy and enjoyable; that’s why it includes charts for flower motifs, detailed and divided into sections containing row-by-row descriptions for every size, as well as video links and photos for easy identification of specific stitches. Materials

• 80 yards (70 m) for size 0; 600 yards (550 m) for sizes 1-4; 800 yards (720 m) for sizes 5-6; 1000 yards (900 m) for size 7 of fingering yarn in color A (green at the picture) for example Bella Alize or another yarn with similar gauge;

• 60 yards (55 m) for size 0; 200 yards (180 m) for sizes 1-6; 400 yards (360 m) for size 7 of fingering yarn in color B (pink at the picture) for example Bella Alize or another yarn with similar gauge;

• Needles size 3 mm (US 2.5) for knitting in rounds, preferably circular needles;

• At least 2 knitting markers;

• Additional piece of contrasting yarn for provisional casting on;

• Cable needle;

• Tapestry needle;

• Scissors;

• Two buttons size about 0.6 in (1,5 cm); adjust them to the finished buttonholes;

• Thin needle and thread to sew on the buttons;

Gauge
10x10 cm (4”x4”) square is 24 stitches and 35 rows knit in plain stitch without blocking.
