Skill level: Intermediate and for everyone who is willing to learn – FUN to work with and Rewarding to see the end/final result.
Sizing:
Granny Square: 92 cm/36 inch x 92 cm/36 inch (plane yarn “white”)
Blanket: 137.5 cm/54 inch x 137.5 cm/54 inch
Row 1 (inside peacock row) = 7 eyes x 4 sides + 1 eye x 4 corners = 32 eyes
Row 2 (outside peacock row) = 10 eyes x 4 sides = 40 eyes
Corners: although, I made it count (for easier visual orientation) as 2 peacock rows – the corners, when looking diagonally, it looks like 4 rows (just those 4 corners) – see the picture for the references, this is my placement and design, you may place a bit differently if you wish so, or as per your liking or imagination, this is how I decided the blanket looks the most outstanding, and if anyone likes it, than it is a guide.
- Peacock eye (diameter): 16 cm/6 ½ inch x 15 cm/6 inch; TOTAL of Peacock eyes for this blanket = 72 – full size: 16 cm/6 ½ inch wide x 15 cm/6 inch long/tall (without lash); lash size depends on your yarn, this particular lash is 4.5 cm/almost 2 inch long.
Materials: Peacock eye:
B (black) center – 1st color = 100 - 150 g (sport yarn)
P (purple) – 2nd color = 150 - 200 g (sport yarn)
F (fuchsia) – 3rd color = 400 - 450 g (sport yarn)
W (white) – 4th color = 500 – 600 g (sport yarn)
L (lash yarn) – 5th color = 100 g (lash yarn, preferably long lash)
Materials: Granny Square:
White – Skinny Chenille or Bulky soft yarn = 400 – 450 g
Crochet hook: 3.5 mm – peacock eye;
4 mm – granny square
Notions: crochet hook, pins, sewing needle, scissors
Tension: crochet steady (not too loose and not too firmly) for the proper peacock eye result – DO NOT BLOCK PEACOCK EYES NOR THE BLANKET.
