The yarn colors used in this pattern are similar to some types of Pinto Beans.
YARN: One skein each of two different colors of the same weight yarn. Sample shown in Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light (100% superwash Merino wool; 420 yds per 100g skein); Color A: ‘Calligraphy’; and Filatura Di Crosa Gioiello (30% wool, 30% Mohair, 20% nylon, 10% acrylic, 10% cotton; 220 yds per 50g ball); Color B: #5 red
NEEDLES: US 10/6.0 mm 16-inch circular needles (2)
NOTIONS: 5 stitch markers, yarn needle
GAUGE: 3 sts = 1 inch
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS:
Width: 9 1/4” (laid flat)
Height: 7 5/8” (brim laid flat)
Shown with brim turned up.
NOTES:
IODK – reverse stockinette faces out on both sides
DK – stockinette faces out on both sides
To rearrange stitches, slip the first and third stitches from the left needle to the right needle, temporarily (and carefully!) dropping the second stitch off the left needle. Place the dropped stitch back on the left needle, then move the slipped stitches from the right needle back to the left needle.
Use the second circular needle when the number of stitches on the crown gets too few to use with one circular needle.
