Pinwheel Spread
This was a restoration from a project that was started in the 1940s and abandoned unfinished. Attempts to locate the original pattern were unsuccessful, resulting in this offering.
The original project was made using 20-wt. thread and a #11 steel hook, with motifs measuring approximately 4.5 inches from flat edge to flat edge. A test-motif was made using 10-wt. bedspread cotton and a #8 hook and measured 5.25 inches from flat edge to flat edge. If you are repairing or adding to an already extant item, the gauge will need to match the already existing work. If you are starting anew, just keep your gauge is consistent throughout and it will be fine.
This pattern can also be used as a tablecloth if desired, or in a lighter thread or lace-weight yarn, it could be made as a wrap or shawl.
Edited To Add: The original upload was incorrect. I apologise for this. If you downloaded the pattern before 14 July 2016, please delete that copy and download the new version.
