Pioneer Gloves
These wool gloves are reminiscent of the gloves I imagine the pioneers wore, spun from the wool of their sheep and knit by the fireside on a cold winter’s night. (I picture Van Gogh’s “Night”, with the fire going, cat resting, man weaving a basket, woman mending, and baby sleeping, probably after a long day’s work.)
I used 1 ply Nube Merino wool, hand spun (on my Joy spinning wheel). One ply helps create a “rougher” look, which I intentionally wanted.
The pattern can be made with a less rugged look by using mill spun, smoother hand spun 1 ply, or 2 ply yarn. Decide what you prefer, then make them your own.
I used to design to supplement our income. Now I design for free but with the hope that you will donate to one of my 2 chosen charities. I do not use a web host so that every cent goes to the cause. I don’t see the donations but I have great faith that kind people help others. THANK YOU. ❤️
