Overview of the project:
Poolaknits Pioni cardigan is a gorgeously soft, boxy, brioche stitch-cardigan with a short hem, dropped shoulders and a v-neck design. The cardigan is knitted bottom up until the armholes, after which the top is divided into front and back pieces, which are joined later from the shoulders. The sleeves are knitted in the round. The neck hole is finished with a button band and popper buttons. If you prefer a longer hem for your cardigan, make sure to note this when estimating your yarn usage and the amount of buttons.

Note! The cardigan has around 15-25 cm / 6-10 inches of positive ease, so choose a size that is around 15-25 cm / 6-10minches larger than your bust circumference (or widest part). If you want a tighter fit, choose a size with a bust circumference closer to yours.

Length of the finished cardigan from shoulder to hem: approx. 50(50)52(54)56(56)60(62) cm / 20(20)20.5(21)22(22)23.5(24) inches

Option 1: Nurja Merino Single (100 % merino wool)

Note! You can knit the cardigan with any other yarn as long as you meet the correct gauge. The cardigan pictured in the pattern is knitted with Nurja Merino Single, in the shade Spinelli. The buttons are from Petite Knit.

Knitting needles:
3 mm / US2.5: double pointed needles and 60/80 cm / 24/32 inches circular needles
4 mm / US6: 40 cm / 16 inches and 60/80 cm / 24/32 inches circular needles

Other materials: stitch markers, tapestry needle, popper buttons (5 pcs) with approx. 2 cm / 0.8 inches circumference

Gauge (in brioche stitch): 10 x 10 cm = 23 sts x 30 rows.
In brioche stitch both back and forth rows are counted, so you will have 30 stitches per 10 cm / 4 inches. Note! The gauge in the pattern is measured from a finished cardigan, so make sure to steam or block (wash and dry to shape) your swatch before measuring it. The brioche stitch is very stretchy, so make sure to take the measurements from the middle of your swatch. If necessary, alter your needle size to obtain the correct gauge.

Yleiskuvaus työstä:
Poolaknits Pioni on ihanan pehmoinen, laatikkomallinen patenttineuletakki, jossa on lyhyehkö, lantion alle laskeutuva helma, lasketut olkapäät ja v-pääntie. Neuletakki neulotaan alhaalta ylös tasona hihansuille, jonka jälkeen yläosa jaetaan etu- ja takakappaleisiin, jotka lopuksi yhdistetään olkasaumoista toisiinsa. Hihat neulotaan suljettuna neuleena suoraan kiinni hiha-aukkoihin. Pääntie viimeistellään nappilistalla, johon lopuksi kiinnitetään painonapit. Jos haluat neuloa helmasta pidemmän, huomioi se nappien määrässä ja langan menekissä.

Puikot:
3 mm: sukkapuikot ja 60/80 cm pyöröpuikot
4 mm: 40 cm ja 60/80 cm pyöröpuikot

Lisäksi tarvitset: kerrosmerkkejä, parsinneulan, 5 kpl painonappeja (halkaisija n. 2 cm)

Tavoiteneuletiheys (patenttineule): 10 x 10 cm = 23 s x 30 krs. Kerrosten määrä patenttineuleessa lasketaan edestakaisina kerroksina, eli 10 cm matkalle tulee 30 oikean puolen silmukkalenkkiä. Huom! Neuletiheys on laskettu jälkikäsitellystä neuleesta eli blokkaa (kastele ja kuivaa muotoonsa) tai höyrytä mallitilkku ennen mittaamista. Patenttineule on hyvin venyvää, joten mittaa neuletiheys keskeltä mallitilkkua. Vaihda tarvittaessa puikkojen kokoa saavuttaaksesi tavoiteneuletiheyden.
