Pipit Sweater Coat
Pipit is a top-down raglan with a high stand-up collar and off-set buttons. It will keep your little one toasty for multiple seasons—first as a roomier coat, and later as a snugger sweater. This project is suitable for beginning knitters. Skills required include knitting in stockinette stitch, ribbing, increasing, decreasing, picking up stitches, and yarn-over buttonholes.
Three skeins of Debbie Bliss Donegal Luxury Tweed Chunky were used in the sweater pictured. The newer version of this wool is 15% angora, and is much softer than previous versions.
NOTE on the button band: it’s wonky as written. Someday I will multi-size this pattern, but in the mean time, please figure out where to place the buttonholes. Sorry, rookey mistake.
