Pippin is knit bottom up, beginning with a folded hem. The A-line shaped body divides at the underarms, and the front and back are worked flat. Increases are made at the outside edges of the front and back to create a modified drop shoulder or dolman type of sleeve without adding too much bulk at the underarm. The shoulder stitches are then grafted together. The sleeves are worked downward from stitches picked up around the armholes. The split cowl is worked by picking up stitches around the neck. The pockets are seamed to the sweater after finishing and are therefore easy to leave off if you desire.

17 sts and 25 rnds = 4” / 10cm on larger needle in st st in the rnd.
