Pattern Note
Pippi’s Bedtime socks are a pair of loose socks knitted with two strands of fingering weight yarn held together. You can change the colors as you like and use leftovers.
Both of the samples are knitted in a gradation of colors. For the gradation method, please refer to the Techniques on page 3.

The instructions are written using the magic loop method with a circular needle. N1 is the needle for sole, heel and calf, and N2 is for shin and instep.
The socks are worked from the toe up in the round with US3 (3.25 mm) needle, and the heel turn and heel frap is worked back and forth on N1.
The leg is worked in the round again, with US4 (3.5 mm) needle in Brioche stitch (in one or two colors), and the cuff is worked in 1x1 ribbing.

Gauge (after blocking)
With US 3 / 3.25 mm needle,
23.5 sts & 36 rnds = 4” / 10 cm in stockinette st.
With US 4 / 3.5 mm needle,
18 sts & 48 rnds = 4” / 10 cm in Brioche st.

Note: For fitted socks, choose a size approximately 1¼ - 1½” / 3 - 4 cm smaller than your actual foot circumference.
Note: You may want to work foot length ¼- ¾” / 0.8 - 2 cm shorter than your desired total foot length for comfortable fit socks.
The fit will vary depending on the gauge and yarn you use, so try it on several times and see what works best.

この靴下は, Fingeringを引き揃え(2本どり)て編むルーズソックスです.
色を替えるタイミングはお好みで, あまり糸をたくさん使用して楽しんでいただければ幸いです.

サンプルは両方ともあまり糸を使用し, グラデーションになるように編んでいます.
グラデーションの方法は3ページの技法をご参照ください.

輪針のマジックループを使用した方法で解説している.
N1が足底, かかと, ふくらはぎ側, N2が甲, すね側を編む.
US3の針を使用し, つま先(トゥ) から輪で編む.
かかと(ヒールターン, ヒールフラップ) はN1のみで平編み.
US4の針を使用し, 足首(レッグ) で再び輪編みをし, US3の針に替え, 履き口まで編む.

ゲージ (ブロッキング後)
US 3 (3.25 mm) の針を使用
メリヤス編みで23.5目& 36周=10 cm
US 4 (3.50 mm) の針を使用
ブリオッシュ編みで18目& 48周=10 cm

ノート: 実際の足周囲から3- 4 cmほど出来上がりが小さいサイズで編むとフィットした履き心地になる.
ノート: 足底は希望の長さから0.8 - 2 cmほど引いた長さを編むとフィットした履き心地になる.
ゲージや使用糸の違いで変わるので何度か試着をして調整するとよい.
