With full instructions on knitting a dolly with long stockings and a removable dress and pinafore.
The pattern is knitted flat and seamed afterwards.

The pattern is relatively easy if you are able to do basic knit and purl stitches. Keep to an even tension for a smooth appearance. If you are a loose knitter either use a smaller needle or a thicker yarn. In this case I would suggest aran or worsted. The doll measurements may knit up slightly larger over all. Mastering mattress stitch is important to produce neat seams as well as French Knots for the eyes although safety eyes could be used instead.

Although I have included crochet in this pattern, don’t be put off. The stitch is easy to master- just single crochet.

The crochet trim could also be knitted in garter stitch instead and I have mentioned this in the pattern.

Pippy Longstocking is a fun dolly with her long stocking legs, sticky-out pigtails and cheeky grin!

She was inspired by my childhood memories of watching Pippy Longstocking on TV.
