This pattern is a top down cardigan for a child. I knitted mine for a 5yrold from my own handspun. It has slight shaping to the sleeves, lace body pattern, button front. It’s a very simple pattern and completely adjustable to yarn and size.

An added bonus is Kam’s cardi, she is 3 but that cardi will fit her for a couple of years yet. She has no shaping in the sleeves and the lace chain pattern repeated in them. I have put about 6 buttons on them but you can do more of less as you wish.

I used my handspun superwash merino for both jumpers. To make bigger or smaller simply add or decrease the sts evenly around the neck. That way this pattern can be used for any thickness of wool and needle size.

Also, being a top down pattern, if you find you are running out of yarn it is easy to use a contrast to make up the difference if you do not have any of the main yarn.
