Named Piran Celtic for affection is this cowl adorned with large sculptural cables, double seed stitch and crowned by an I-cord. The cables are worked back and forth, then grafted together before stitches are picked up and knitted in the round in double seed stitch. Piran is knitted in the divine Silky Wool by Elsebeth Lavold and can be worn together with the matching dress; Osku.

Needles: 4 mm/US 6 straight needles.
4 mm/US 6 circular needle (60 cm/24”).
Adjust needle size as needed to match gauge.
Notions: Stitch markers (removable), cable needle, stitch holders, 3.5 mm/US 4 (E) crochet hook, waste yarn and yarn needle.
Gauge: 22 sts and 30 rows in St st using 4 mm/US 6 needle measures 10 cm/4” square after blocking.
22 sts and 30 rows in Double seed st using 4 mm/US 6 needle measures 10 cm/4” square after blocking.
30-st Cable measures 9 cm/3.5” across after blocking.
Notes: The cowl is worked in two parts; the bottom cable that is worked back and forth and grafted together, before stitches are picked up and the remaining part is worked in the round with shaping.
