Pirate Boot Socks
These socks are knitted from the toe up in the round. The cuff is worked back and forward (at right angles to the sock) as you cast off each stitch at the top of the sock.
The cuff can be worn either up or down, depending how you feel. Perfect for wearing up round your trousers for walking or down around the house as slipper socks.
This pattern is design to be multiple size. Before you start use the colour coded chart to add the correct stitches for the size you want to the pattern. The purple section for the cast on goes in the purple section in the pattern for example.
Tension: 5cm x 5cm square = 12sts x 16 rows in stocking stitch knitted in the round. Materials: 200g Beaker Button Aran or West Yorkshire Spineers Aire Valley Aran, set of 5 x 4mm double pointed needles and a 4mm single pointed needle, yarn needle for sewing in ends, 6 Dorset buttons 1.6cm across. You may want a stitch marker to keep track of the start of the round.
Instructions for the Dorset buttons come with the pattern. You will need 6 closed rings 1.6cm across and 8m of 4ply thread/yarn (1.2m per button). You will also need a blunt needle.
