Pit & Peak Socks
Before every class with one of my favorite graduate school professors, she would ask us to identify our “pit and peak”, aka an exciting thing and a challenging thing happening in your life right now. She also called it rose and thorn among other names. I have always loved this sentiment and believe it’s important to acknowledge the good things happening among the not so good. For instance, you’re knitting socks! That’s awesome, a definite peak! And hopefully, it can serve as a distraction from some pits going on right now.
These socks utilize a top-down method starting at the ribbing. You will then progress into the leg where the beautiful texture begins. Next, you will complete an easy short row heel and then the foot. Lastly, you will zip through the toe and then graft, easy as that!
