If you love the look of a shawl draping over your shoulders but not happy to have a lot of bulk at your chin then you will love this style.

Knit from tip to tip Pivot has a deep V shape that just skims the neck area rather than engulfing it.

V for victory!

Create a bold statement for your look whether in jeans or a night out.

This is a very simple pattern to knit and is suitable for beginners. The stitches are basic and the different direction of stripes is achieved with slipped stitches. It’s that simple.

Finished Measurements:
after blocking: wingspan = 178 cm/ 70”. Depth = 30.5 cm/ 12”.

Gauge: Before blocking:
19 stitches x 37 rows = 10 cm/ 4” square in Garter stitch on 5 mm/ US 8 needles.

Yarns used:
Malabrigo Rios. Pure Merino Superwash. 100 grams, 192 m/210 yds. Worsted (9 wpi).

Colour (A). 1 skein # 148 Holly Hock (20 grams leftover).
Colour (B). 1 skein # 195 Black (30 grams leftover).

The amounts of yarn used are based on my sample for the design but will depend on the yarn you choose, variations in yarn thickness of each colour, your personal gauge/tension and any changes made.

Needles and supplies:

Two different needle sizes are required. The slipped stitch sections will pull in and therefore for that section I suggest going up to the larger size.
5 mm/ US 8 straight needles or size needed to obtain gauge.
5.5 / US 9 straight needles.
2 stitch markers and 1 locking marker.
Tapestry needle.
Substitute with circular needles if preferred.
