The Pixel Hat is the perfect accessory to keep you warm! It’s great for using up your leftover super chunky yarn, or if you want to try a smaller project before moving onto the Pixel Jumper to make a matching set.

The Pixel Hat works up quickly on 10 mm needles and is worked in the round, so no seaming is required. A pompom can be added as a nice finishing touch, but is not necessary.

The simple but stylish two-tone pixelated design is created using stranded knitting, and any two colours can be used. The colourwork results in yarn ‘floats’ on the wrong side of the work which add additional thickness to the hat, making it extra warm. I’ve included both written instructions and knitting charts for the colourwork, so you can use the method you are most comfortable with. This is a great project for those wanting to try out some stranded knitting for the first time, and is suitable for advanced/adventurous beginners.
