The Pixel Jumper is an oversized chunky knit with a drop shoulder and big sleeves for maximum comfort. The body length and neckline can be easily adjusted to suit your personal style, and instructions on how to customise your knit are provided.

The simple but stylish two-tone pixelated design is created using stranded knitting, and any two colours can be used. I’ve included both detailed written instructions and knitting charts for the colourwork, so you can use the method you are most comfortable with.

This jumper has a simple construction. The front and back panels are worked flat, and the sleeves can be knitted flat or in the round – the pattern includes instructions for both so you can use whichever technique you prefer. The stitches for the neck are then picked up and worked in the round.

This pattern is written for 12 sizes ranging from an 81 cm (32 inch) to 142 cm (56 inch) chest, and is colour coded throughout for clarity. For more details see the size chart provided. All sizes are written with a sleeve length of 44 cm as your arm length is proportional to your height, not your width – details on how to make adjustments to sleeve length are provided.

Materials:
10 mm needles (circular ** or straight)
9 mm needles (circular ** or straight)
9 mm circular needles (at least a 40 cm (16 in) cord) for the neckline
1 stitch marker
2 x stitch holders or scrap yarn for holding stitches
Tapestry needle
** If using circular needles an 80 cm (32 in) cord is recommended.

Yarn: For approximate yardages see the size chart provided. Any yarn with which you can achieve the correct tension should work. Generally, a yarn with a reported tension of 9 sts and 12 rows to 10 cm (4 in) over stocking stitch on 10 mm needles (or similar) will be suitable. Note: If you’re planning to increase the sleeve or body length you will need more than the amount stated in the table.

Tension: 8.5 sts and 11.5 rows to 10 cm (4 in) over stocking stitch on 10 mm needles (or size required to give correct tension).
