Pixie Squares Blanket
This lap blanket is made from little pixie squares that are quick to hook. I found them very addictive. I made a blanket using specific yarn, but it is absolutely perfect as a stash blanket – just use up any odds and ends of yarn as each little square only take a few metres.
They are joined as you go, but I prefer to make lots of squares individually keeping hook and yarn handy whilst out and about and hooking a little square whenever I have time. Then I can settle down one evening, pull back the last few stitches on each little square and join them. It also gives me the opportunity to rearrange and place colours as I like before joining them.
As they are joined as you go, it is quite easy to replace a square if you change your mind.
For a lap blanket 1.2m square (4ft square) I used 25 balls (50g) of Drops Nepal. However, the blanket can be made in any weight of yarn to any size, but yarn requirements will vary.
