Pizzelle Stitch Scarf
I decided to call this variation on the linen stitch the Pizzelle stitch, because the reversible texture looks like a shallow waffle on one side, and also has a pretty design on the back of the fabric, like a lovely pizzelle cookie. This pattern looks deceptively complicated, but is really very simple, and works up fast. This pattern takes advantage of the warmth and softness of super bulky yarn, but the large hook and stitch pattern give it amazing drape, which makes it perfect for scarves and wraps.
This pattern includes instruction for making your scarf the long way or the short way - I like using self- striping yarn like the Caron Tea Cakes working the length of the scarf so the colours all appear together like they do in cake form, but if you are working a solid color or would like blocks of colour from self- striping yarn and don’t want to count as many chains, working width-wise is fast and easy too!
