This cabled headband looks impressive but is actually very simple to knit, with a repeated 8-row motif. The pattern is so easy to remember, it even makes a good knit-night project--and a handy stash buster.

The headband can be adapted for different seasons by modifying the yarn weight and needle size. Here, the teal headband was made with worsted weight yarn and 5 mm needles, while the blue headband used sport yarn and 4.5 mm needles. You may even use a cotton yarn for summer fashion wear, or bulky yarn for the dead of winter.
